This will replace that broken dorsal on your Hobie Hawk and get it flying again! Made from polycarbonate (stronger than the stock ABS plastic). You will need to (carefully!) glue this assembly together using CA glue. To install this on your fuse' I have a complete step-by-step photo instructions HERE.

Hobie Hawk Canopies!

I have a few reproduction Hobie Hawk canopies available. These are made to fit any year/maker of your Hobie Hawk and will require some minor trimming (at the rear of the canopy). They are made a bit long intentionally because depending on who made your Hawk (Hobie Model Co., Midwest Inc, Bob Martin or Ross Models) the nose pod length actually varied depending on how fast the plastic was cooled.

Tintable canopies These are made form the same material as the stock originals and are TINTABLE using water soluble dye. Price is $29 shipped via priority mail (cont. US). Yes I am sorry, but the price of these has gone up. The butyrate plastic used to make these is extremely hard to find and expensive!

The canopy comes clear, than you can dye it with Rit dye.

Here is an orange tinted canopy on my SuperHawk.

Clear PET-G plastic a very good replacement, more durable than the stock ones, keeps it's shape better. These are NOT tintable, but you can paint them from the inside. $20 shipped via priority mail (cont. US).

Original type Tow Hook

This will replace your old bent or missing tow hook. Slightly heavier wire gauge makes it more stout. Comes with mounting hardware and back up block.

New original 10 footers - one of a kind

I have my one and only set of factory 10 footers up for sale. In the last 11 years this is the only set like this I have come across. These are untouched, never sanded or covered. They have the wing tips and wing rod tubes installed. All you have to do is shape the leading edge finish sand and cover. These are a rare find. To get these I paid $751 + shipping on eBay about 10 years ago... yes, ugh! I will pass these on for $750 and also include a new rudder root (to make an enlarged rudder), a copy of my "Hobie Happenings" DVD and Hobie Hawk manual CD. I know this is a huge amount, but then again I have never seen a set like this since.

The 10 footers were an option for the stock Hobie Hawk to improve thermaling ability, although many flew these on the slopes as well. As mentioned above I am including a brand new rudder root so you can make a larger rudder if you so desire. Making a 25%-30% larger rudder was one of the best tricks to make the 10 foot Hobie Hawk behave. Click on these thumbnails for larger photos.

Titanium Wing Rods

Here is a nice upgrade for your Hobie Hawk - a TITANIUM wing rod. These are made to my spec's from high quality 6AL/4V titanium and is much more stout than the stock aluminum one and only 20 grams heavier. The main benefit is that these Ti rods are much less susceptible to bending and do not gall and get stuck in your fuselage. These are $29.95 and that includes shipping (cont US). Note: Yes, titanium in expensive! it has more than doubled in price in the last 2 years! Because of this exorbitant cost, this is my last batch.
